Do you provide stamped or sealed drawings?
No. Mapperty Spaceview provides modelling and drafting services only. We do not sign, stamp, or seal drawings as a Registered Architect or Professional Engineer.
Can my GC (General Contractor) use your models to build?
Yes. Many GCs can work from clear, well-structured plans and models for non-permit work or as a base for further detailing with a licensed professional.
When do I still need an architect or engineer?
For major structural changes, new builds, or any work that requires permits, we strongly recommend engaging a licensed Architect or Professional Engineer to design, review, and stamp drawings.
How much can I save?
For small to medium remodels, many customers save up to 80% compared to traditional architect/engineer drafting fees, especially when they already know the changes they want.
What devices do you support?
Mapperty Spaceview currently supports iOS devices for scanning. The web platform can be accessed from any modern browser for uploads, approvals, and downloads.
What if I have existing CAD files or LiDAR scans?
Great. You can upload them from the web dashboard. We’ll use them to improveaccuracy and speed.
What’s included in the 3 revisions?
Revisions cover corrections and minor design adjustments based on the scopeinitially agreed. Major scope changes may require a new estimate.
What is SpaceView?
SpaceView is an iOS-based scanning application that allows homeowners, architects, designers, and small property owners to capture indoor spaces using LiDAR-enabled Apple devices. The scanned data is used to generate instant 3D models (USDZ) and 2D floor plans, with an option to order professionally drafted Revit models.
How is SpaceView different from other room-scanning apps?
SpaceView is the only scanning app fully integrated with the Mapperty ecosystem, offering:

Do I need special hardware to use SpaceView?
Yes.SpaceView requires an iOS Pro device with a LiDAR sensor, such as:
  • iPhone 12/13/14/15 Pro or Pro Max
  • iPad Pro models with LiDAR
Standard iPhone or iPad models without LiDAR are not supported.
What types of properties is SpaceView intended for?
SpaceView is designed for:

SpaceView is not recommended for large commercial or industrial facilities.

How does the scanning process work?
Scanning is simple:You walk around the room while your iOS device captures walls, corners, floors, and geometry using LiDAR. The app provides real-time feedback as it builds the 3D space.
How long does a scan take?
A typical scan takes:
  • 1–3 minutes for small rooms
  • 3–7 minutes for medium rooms
  • Longer for multi-room floors
Scanning time varies based on space layout and size.
Can I scan multiple rooms or floors?
Yes.You can scan:
  • Individual rooms
  • Entire floors
  • Multiple floors within the same project
Each scan is automatically organized under the associated project.
What happens if a scan fails?
If scanning fails due to motion, loss of tracking, or environment issues:
  • The app notifies you
  • You can retake the scan immediately
  • You will also receive on-screen guidance for:
    • Stable movement
    • Proper lighting
    • Recommended distance from surfaces
Can I review the scan before submitting?
Yes.After scanning, you can:
  • Preview the 3D model
  • Review floor plan structure
  • Zoom, pan, and rotate
  • Retake if needed
No scan is sent without your approval.
Is SpaceView free?
Scanning and receiving USDZ + floor plan outputs are free.For Revit deliverables, payment is required.
When do I pay?
You pay after sending your scan and receiving an instant quote.Revit modeling begins only after payment is completed.4.3 How is pricing determined?Pricing depends on:

What do I receive after ordering the Revit add-on?
If you choose the optional paid service, you will receive:

How long does it take to receive deliverables?

How accurate are SpaceView scans?
Quick scans provide visualization-level accuracy.LiDAR-based scans yield better geometric accuracy for Revit modeling but remain within LOD 100–200, which is schematic level.
What file formats does SpaceView support?

My scan looks incomplete. What should I do?
Try the following:
  • Move more slowly
  • Improve lighting
  • Avoid shiny/glass surfaces
  • Maintain 1–3 meters between device and walls

My upload is stuck. What are the common reasons?
Uploads may stall due to:
